Multicam Editing with Adobe Premiere Pro

When multiple cameras are used in video productions, synchronizing and editing this footage can be a challenging process. However, thanks to Adobe Premiere Pro’s Multicam feature, this process can be done in seconds.

What is Multicam? Multicam is a technique that combines footage from cameras shooting the same moment from different angles into a single timeline, allowing you to edit by pressing keys as if you were a live broadcast director.

How to do it?

  1. Synchronization: Select all camera footage and the audio file, right-click, and select “Create Multi-Camera Source Sequence”. Premiere analyzes the sound waves and automatically matches the footage.
  2. Editing Mode: Drag the created sequence to the timeline. Click the settings icon in the program monitor and switch on “Multi-Camera” mode.
  3. Recording and Cutting: While playing the video, press the 1, 2, 3 keys on your keyboard to switch between cameras in real-time.

This method reduces editing time by 80%, especially for interviews, concert recordings, and YouTube content.
